As a national association representing members from both independent operators and major cinema chains, we present a strong and united force.

Exhibitors in Australia and New Zealand have made significant investment in the industry, with:

  • Total box office revenue peaking at AUD$1.245 billion in Australia in 2018
  • Over 10,000 people employed in the cinema industry in Australia
  • Cinema consistently rates as one of the top social activities for all demographics.

That investment is worth protecting, and that is NACO’s primary objective.

Fee Calculator

All cinema operators within Australia and New Zealand are encouraged to join our Association. Our fee schedule has been structured so it is fair to all exhibitors.

Fees are calculated at $37.50 (+ GST) per screen for the first nine (9) screens you operate, and then $62.50 (+ GST) per screen thereafter.

EXAMPLES OF CALCULATIONS only – fees will be charged on the ACTUAL number of screens operated.

1 screen (1 @ $37.50) = Total $37.50 + GST
2 screens (2 @ $37.50) = Total $75 + GST
4 screens (4 @ $37.50) = Total $150 + GST
9 screens (9 @ $37.50) = Total $337.50 + GST
10 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 1 @ $62.50) = Total $400 + GST
15 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 6 @ $62.50) = Total $712.50 + GST
30 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 21 @ $62.50) = Total $1,650 + GST
45 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 36 @ $62.50) = Total $2,587.50 + GST
100 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 91 @ $62.50) = Total $6,025 + GST
450 screens (9 @ $37.50 + 441 @ $62.50) = Total $27,900 + GST
